Financial & Insurance

It is our mission to provide you with affordable, high-quality treatment that fits your budget! We offer a variety of payment options to meet your needs. This will be explained and given to you in writing at your initial appointment.

At Dillon American Orthodontic Care we try to make payments for you as convenient as possible.  A great advantage we offer is our case fees are based in US dollars.  Therefore, there is no fluctuation in what you pay caused by changes in the exchange rates.  You are certainly welcome to have your case fee based and make payment in Euros.  However, most US patients are paid in US dollars and prefer to pay in US dollars.  If the case fees are Euro based then the monthly amount will fluctuate month to month if you are paid in US dollars regardless of payment method.  This will not occur if your fee is US dollars based.

We offer a significant discount for payment in cash.

Insurance

We participate with many insurance carriers, and are a preferred provider for United Concordia. If your insurance covers orthodontic treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Many insurance policies have a lifetime orthodontic benefit that is distinct from regular dental insurance. Insurance policies vary, so we will review your insurance to determine the appropriate course of action. Once treatment has started, we will file your claims.

To help us with your insurance filing, please complete the insurance questions on our questionnaire.

Please remember that orthodontic insurance is a benefit for you or your child. If, during the course of treatment, your benefits change, the financially responsible party is accountable for all charges.

Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. We will be happy to fill out your insurance forms using the ADA (American Dental Association) codes used by American insurance companies. In addition, a great benefit for you is the insurance company will reimburse you directly instead of paying our office. This way you will have the cash in your hand. Then you have the option to pay us the amount reducing your monthly fee or elect to make the regular monthly payments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept TRICARE for orthodontic treatment?

Yes. As a provider familiar with military orthodontics in Germany, we accept TRICARE and the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) for eligible beneficiaries. TRICARE braces coverage applies to qualifying dependents and we help you understand your lifetime orthodontic maximum before treatment starts.

What happens to my TRICARE coverage if we PCS mid-treatment?

This is a common concern for military families at Landstuhl-Ramstein and one we plan for from the start. Dr. Dillon prepares complete transfer documentation so your treatment continues smoothly with the next provider. We have helped many families navigate this over the years.

Do you accept German public or private insurance?

Yes. As an orthodontist insurance Landstuhl patients can access with both US military and German coverage, we work with German public (GKV) and private (PKV) insurance plans. Coverage varies by plan and patient age, and our team will review your policy and provide a clear breakdown at your consultation.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. We offer flexible in-office payment arrangements and accept HSA and FSA funds, which are popular options for American military families managing planned healthcare costs. Full details are provided at your free consultation.

Is the initial consultation free?

Completely. Dr. Dillon evaluates your case, explains your options, and provides a full cost estimate including insurance coverage at no charge. No obligation, no pressure.

Are there family discounts for military families with multiple children in treatment?

Yes. We recognize the reality of military orthodontics in Germany where families often have multiple children at orthodontic age simultaneously. Ask about family discounts at your consultation and we will factor them into your cost breakdown.
